My sister, Katelyn, had my nephew, Rutledge’s, first birthday party this past weekend and it was fiesta-themed :) She really though-out the details + she’s an excellent photographer, so I thought it would be a fun to showcase her skill.
She ordered the invitations from my design company, Rare Assembly. We created a custom invite and had them screen-printed on a linen paper to add texture.
From there, she took the idea of sombreros, cacti, and maracas and RAN with it. Our mom had these adorable gift bags printed that Katelyn filled with miniature maracas, bubbles, cookies from Baked by Ash, and temporary tattoos from Love & Lion.
The cake and smash cake were created by A Frosted Affair and matched the invites, gift bags, tattoos, and cookies perfectly…it was funfetti cake and was just as delicious as it was cute.
She purchased the adorable tomato sauce tins from an international market off of Nolensville Road and filled them with adorable little cacti and used my vintage “Pleasure Chest” cooler to fill with Jarritos and Mexican cokes!
In the back yard, she hung these Mexican cut paper flags adorned with Rutledge’s name alongside various balloons, pom poms, piñatas, and some of my vintage mexican blankets. The tent was something I made for his llama-themed baby shower over a year ago and he’s just now getting to the age where he enjoys playing with it. We LOVE that.
Babies for days and days – how cute is their backyard?
Finally, Katelyn set up a Photo Booth spot complete with sombreros and fake mustaches…
Although hot, it was such an adorable day. Happy Birthday, Rutledge! We love you!
