Obviously I’m not attempting to claim any sort of chef award in my family. That would obviously go to my sister and my mother. They’re both quite skilled in the kitchen and Diddy is currently residing in Charleston, SC where she is attending school to become an even better cook. Needless to say, I’m happy that food even interests me at this point. I think it began to when I eventually found someone to cook for. Needless to say, it has been fun finding easy recipes from my Lynny, Billy’s mom, and the internet. If I make it and he likes it, we add it to “The List” of things Joey can make. When I’m actually attempting the recipe is when my sister gets the phone calls. You see, I can prepare the food, but the actual heating of things is when it gets tricky.

Needless to say, I’ve been wanting an cute recipe box to begin storing recipes when people give them to me. I love how my mom has a box filled with my grandmothers’ handwriting and recipes from all of her friends. The box I have now is Mary Inglebright [embarrassing] and I keep it hidden in a drawer. I’m hoping to find a vintage wooden or metal box that will look cute sitting on my counter. Here are few I’m looking at on Etsy. Which do you think? I love the American Home Menu Maker and the primitive farm-looking one. Also…aren’t these letter-press cards pictured below awesome?
