At our last Friday auction…several rabbit-shaped candy molds in various sizes were auctioned off. Each one selling for around $55. They were sold choice so my mother and I saw all 12 rabbits devastatingly and slowly auctioned off to higher bidders. Obviously since our booth is called The Burlap Rabbit I was hoping to win at least one – unfortunately, we did not. Afterwards, one of our auction regulars came up to me. He and his wife own a toy shop on Main Street in Downtown Franklin and his daughter is studying to be a pastry chef. He offered me one of the rabbits knowing of my booth’s name and kept one to give to his daughter. Absolutely one of the nicest things anyone has ever done. It currently resides on my beside table and definitely not considering selling it. Rare people like that left in this world.
